I have read others with a older F150 have experienced it, but I havent seen any solutions posted. Truck rides fine until you hit 65 and the front right end starts shaking, get her up to 70 and above and she smooths out. Drop below 65 and she's fine again. Any and all suggestions appreciated. the tires are fairly new and balanced, it did the same thing with the old tires so Im crossing that one off the list. Im no mechanic although mechanically inclined, I wouldnt know what to look for with the suspension.
my X used to do the same thing at the same speed you are describing. When the wheels were balnced from ford, they cross-weighted the wheels, meaning that the weights almost negated each other due to the placement of the weights. Brought em to a good tire shop, prob went away
I bought new tires, installed and balanced......all good.......3 months later at 50 up to almost 60..... vibration and steering wheel shaking. Went back to the shop and the fronts were out of balance......he said it happens sometimes. That would be my first check.
I also had a bit of shaking before I had the rotors cut too......very bad when braking from 70 or so and he said they were quite a bit out which could have caused some vibration/shaking just driving.
I also remember reading a post about sticking calipers......causing a "grab" at some speeds that would make a vibration or shake.
Most shops just spin to a maximum speed . Like 65 . Or less . I took me several trips to different shops to get balance right.I had same problem at 45 and 70 MPH . But It could be a alignment issue. I hope you figure out problem .

See if you can find a shop with a "road-force" balancing machine (my words, it might be called something else)... apparently sometimes there's inconsistencies in the manufacturing of the wheel that only show up when the weight of the truck, etc. is bearing on it... the road-force machine simulates that... my tire guy here solved a persistent problem using that machine.
