ok. i have a question. this guy at the muffler shop, i went to for an estimate, told me that a stock 292 will not be able to fill up a super 40 flowmaster or and high performance muffler so it woul be a wste of time. what in the hell is he talking bout? dont understand. i think he was thinking i was gonna put on a super 40 with 3" inlets. not even close. I was thinking like 2" to 2.5". whats your alls suggestions. I want the flowmaster sound. ttyl i guess.

2" will work just fine. Tell him the customer is always right.

Possibly find a shop that actually knows what they're talking about? People "in the know" alot of times don't have a clue. I had a "knowledgable" parts guy tell me once that there was no such thing as a tri-y header and that there was no way one could work.
