upgrading revisited
Approx. 500 miles round trip on a Mt. road that seems to be uphill all the way in both directions. I know that this is impossible but its just to get the idea across that it was a long tough pull. Have done this trip with same rig before the mods and I got to say that the improvement was quit substantial. Probably 20 kilometer per hour improvement in speed on the 2nd and 3rd gear pulls and the engine RPM would easily pull to max at 3600 and all traces of the stock anemia were gone. Shifting was better and more responsive to demands. Of course gas milage is not good in these circumstances because of the demands but the main purpose was to make Horsepower and this was achieved quit handily. Just to mention it was 12.5 miles to the canadian gallon over all. The truck was a pleasure to drive under these conditions and this would have contributed to the low gas milage. I expect better on the next trip where there will be more flat land and I will try to resist partaking of the pleasure of hearing the throaty booming thrum of the exhaust and the feel of the strong steady pull of a nicely tuned Ford truck motor. I would recommend these upgradeds to anyone that wants to improve the performance of their Inline 4.9. Meantime I will definitly enjoy.:7
