speedo question

speedo question

I'm doin a restore on a '49 F2 that is pretty much complete. i do have a question that may sound kind of dumb but me and my friends can't for the life of me figure it out.

Where does the speedo cable get plugged into? I have looked all over and i can't find a shop manual online nor can i find any pictures that looks like the other end of the cable. All other stock gauges are worked fine, but the speedo cable wa completely missing.

The cable screws into the back of the speedometer in the dash pod:



The red arrow points to the hole the cable goes into, the black arrow are the mounting stud locations.

In the trans mission the cable mount right side, toward the rear:

thanx a lot. I couldn't find it because it filled with who knows how many years worth of crud.
