I'm new to the forums here and have a question for all of you.
I just got a 2003 Ford F150 4x2 SuperCrew King Ranch. It has the 16 valve 5.4L engine with 73,000 miles on the odometer.
I'm looking to do a cold air intake, performance exhaust and chip reprogram and or replacement. Budget is not unlimited, but I am willing to spend some money.
What is the conscensus for the best combination of the above upgrades? Where to look, what brands are best, etc.
I have a Outlaw Power CAI. It draws in cool outside air, not hot underhood air like the open filter guys. I have a Diablosport Predator tuner (much better than a chip) and a Flowmaster cat-back system. I have been happy with the power gains from this set-up. Better mileage too!!!
Stock manifolds and cat's, I use a 40 series muffler #430402 with 3" inlet and dual 2.5" outlets exiting out the rear with stainless tips. The 40 series is louder than the 50 series. It's not overly loud and you can talk normally in the cab.
