351 C or W
I want to swap my 300 for a 351, but I don't know which one. I'm building on a budget, but I ain't gonna buy crap to save money. My truck is half on road and half on rocks and in mud. What is the best bang for the buck motor. I've heard that the Cleveland is the power pig on the block, but I also heard it was the most expensive.

My vote is for the windsor. Aftermarket support is great with all kinds of mods. The cleveland is a great engine......if you have the bucks to build it and can find the stuff to do it with. For dollars spent I doubt you could make the same power in a cleveland that you can a windsor.......just because of the difference in aftermarket support for the two.

My vote would be for the Windsor. The C is a wonderful engine, and can make more power than a W can even dream about,BUT, and this is important, at a much higher rpm. I used to drive a mustnag with a 351C in it with the large port heads and a 4 spd. Tons of power above 3500rpm, under that,it was pretty much a dead player. In a truck, a windsor is a very good choice. DF
