Hi there, I have been having trouble with the engine I am installing in my 4x4. About a year ago I bought a 5,4L engine from the states, I am putting it in a truck, and this is some thing that I have done a lot of. But in till now I have only been installing Chevy engines so I have not had to deal with more than 2 02 sensors. The 5,4L Ford has four of them, two right after the manifolds and then another pair right after the catalysator. I am not in the states so the smog laws do not apply where I live. I intended to do without the Cat’s. Can anyone tell me where I can get some information on what the signal from the second pair of 02 sensors should look like, or what my possibilities are?

Just put them in anyway, b/c if you don't, the computer will assume that the 3-way converters are not working, and I don't know how they'll correct for it, but it will not be pretty. Actually, the best thing to do is just put simple two-way conveters in, they won't cost you any power at all, unless you're planning on turning 7000 RPM and 700 HP. Ask Shazam, he says he has an 800 HP smog motor. Otherwise, without cats, you may have to get a chip burned by a programmer. Besides, all it does it keep it from making you dizzy when you crank it up in the garage.

I used to be into police package (9C1) Chevy Caprices. The 96's with the LT1 had the four o2 sensor setup. When removing the cats we used a special o2 sensor bung. The two sensors mounted after the cats were plugged into these bungs/sockets that sent a programmed message to the computer that the cats were operational and working properly even though they were no longer on the car. You just mounted the special o2 bungs somewhere and plugged the two rear o2 sensors into them. Worked like a charm. Check some 9c1 boards or Impala SS sites and look for exhaust mods to find the name of the company that makes the fake o2 bungs.
read the 8th paragraph under the O2 sensor heading. They also mention the company that makes the part I was talking about. They call it a O2 simulator.
