I don't mean to argue with you but concerning the C block your info is skewed. They are ALL 90* blocks and the C block is actually a tad narrower than a 351W. Of course the 302 is not as wide as either. I will agree the M/400 block is wider but at the sake of being redundant all blocks share the same bore spacing, bore and all heads are interchangeable.(with water jacket mods)
Obviously the "C" style head makes the total package wider. But we are talking blocks.
Just in case it hasn't been mentioned page 113 and 114 of the 2002 FORD RACING PARTS catalog lists the small blocks as 289/302/351W/351C/351M/400

Josh,
If you go back to the beginning of the thread, you'll see that Imentioned the 332, as a "big block". The trouble lies in how
you perceive each engine...

Ive always under stood that Chevys were designated small block and big block and the Fords went by engine family and werent designated small or big block.
It was never referred to by name or displacement. All that was discussed in the latter part was the 352, which as I stated is not the smallest FE engine and therefore, should not even be considered in the argument.
The 332 WAS a big block at its time. The 60s era brought the rapid growth displacements, just look at the short time it took the FE to go from 332 to 427, basically 5 years.
Say "335 Series" "385 Series" "Lima" "Windsor" "Cleveland" "FE" "Y Block" Don't say "400 Cleveland" because there's only one. LOL, yes, there actually exists a bit of Ford literature that actually says "Cleveland 400"
