Gotta keep in mind that this 3 to 1 includes Super Duty models as well, not only F150. Plus the fact Ford has a much larger commercial/fleet sales help boost this figure.

What I'd like to see is the actual figure of F150 vs. Tundra sales. I would think this would drop the ratio considerably. Maybe something like for every 1.5-2 F150 sales you'd get 1 Tundra sale. If you excluded fleet/commercial sales, then this figure would drop even further.

Just my thoughts, don't have any hard data to back up this up. Simply an assumption.

I believe the information I got was for the f-150 and the 1/2 ton trucks, not the whole
spectrum of trucks for each manufacturer.

answer to my last post, my bad. they were talking about all the models
to each manufacturer, ford f series, silverado series, gmc series, so on,
so still toy is not doing so well,?.

It all depends on how you look at it.

Lets just say of the 65K Fords sold, 1/2 are F150 and the other 1/2 are F250/350. So that means Ford sold roughly 32.5K F150's. All while Toy sold 21K Tundras. Using this comparison, Ford only sold roughly 1.5 F150's for every 1 Tundra sold. If F150's make up 2/3's (43K) of this 65K, then it's a little more respectable. Basically 2 F150's are sold for every 1 Tundra.

Personally, using those figures, I think it's kind of scary. Not much gap there for Toy to make up in the next couple years, at least in the 1/2 ton market. Toy has a ways to go to capture the top spot overall, but don't have too big of a gap in the 1/2 tons.

Like DOHC said, Toyota planned to sell only 200K Tundras this year. At 21K for June, if those numbers continue, they'll be well over thier goal.

I'd be more interisted in percentages up and down vs 2006 than total numbers.

"But a couple weeks ago, I went looking at Toys with the wife. We had our choice of maybe 10 Crew Max's.........but 0 4WD's."

Try Houston. I checked one Toyota dealer and they had 137 4X4's in stock.

In my eyes too. I don't know what I would do if they all of a sudden quit making them. What the heck would I drive then?

I think he was referring to the CrewMax models in 4X4 specifically. I know there are tons of Reg. & Dbl. Cab 4X4 models with both V8's in my area, but the high demand Tundra currently is the CrewMax.

OK, 42 of the 4X4's were a CrewMax.

I would have to assume that this is partly due to you being located in TX and maybe the dealers there expected higher sales than they've received so far. Here in CO, the demand for a 4X4 is greater than TX, being the huge difference in climate. Also, from what I've experienced with my travels and friends/family from TX, most people are a lot more dedicated to domestics than import trucks. Here in CO, most farmers, ranchers and construction types are still opting for a domestic, while more of the business types and soccer moms are purchasing the Titans/Tundras/Ridgelines.

This is just my thoughts and experiences, could be way off, but who knows for sure.

You're probably right although of my 4 vehicles, 3 of them are 4X4's but I admit to being a little different.

I did actually see a new Tundra "working" the other day. It was hauling overhead door parts to a construction site.

Obviously you're on drugs. Toyotas aren't capable of any work whatsoever.

Just ask anyone.
