Hi everyone! I recently purchased a 03 F-250 Lariat 6.0 (104k miles) on ebay. I had a car fax done, and it came out good? I'm planning to fly in, pick it up, and drive it 1k miles. I will be having the truck serviced before I fly in. Aside from filters, what would you have done to it?
Have you had an Oasis report done? Many times it will show stuff (all dealer warranty repairs) that Carfax does not. There is a thread in this forum where you can post the Vin # and request an Oasis report.
Oh crap! I thought the Car-fax was sufficient enough. I'll try an locate the thread you mentioned for an Oasis report. I hope it doesn't take long for the report to come in.

Thanks guys!
car-fax is for insurance claims but oasis if for warranty claims and will tell what all has been touched by ford for the 5/100k
Oasis came in pretty good. What a relief. Had a few injectors replaces and exhaust pipe repaired. Not much more.
While speaking to the service manager at the Ford dealership today, I told him that I would like to have Delvac 5/40 for the oil change. His reply was that it didn't contain an anti-foaming agent, and that I should use Motorcraft 15/40. I haven't seen the oil spec yet, but I believe it calls for a CJ-4? Is that correct? Also what's up with the anti-foaming agent? Is this an issue with Rotella T 5/40 as well? I really would like a 100% synthetic oil.

The only issue here is the reluctance of the service manager to deviate from his standard practice of using Motorcraft 15W-40 oil.
