are the pictures in my gallery signs of a leaking intercooler boot? I am unable to post them on the post, but they are in my gallery. I only have the one blue one that is that dirty. I checked the clamps on it and they seemed tight. Any suggestions or advice?
take that boot off..(I would do all boots..) wash them in dawn dish soap..clean pipes and put them back on..you can do a ccv mod to keep that from happening again..look in my sig below and click on common mods..
when i purchased my truck a few weeks ago, I couldn't even tell what color the boots were..... Took me almost 10 mins each boot to get them cleaned up. I did the CCV mod
should I tighten them more after I clean them? Also, since this is for the intercooler, is oil in the system when the truck sits, or is it all in the radiator piece? Do I need to be concerned about spilling oil? Thanks for posting the pic's.
there maybe an ounce or so oil in the hole system..no oil will come pooring out of them pipes..wash them good.. check for rips or holes in the boots..put them back on nice and tight..
thanks ron. What's in that piped system then? Should get it cleaned up today. If anything, should make the engine compartment cleaner. What size hose did you use for the CCV mod? Zip tied it all the way to the rear bumper?

Thanks!
Just use 3/4 heater hose about $1.00 a foot at local A/P store. if you vent to atmosphere, you run the hose as long or short as you want. Mine terminates just infront of the gas tank. Yes, use zip ties to hold it in place. Remember to replace the ccv vent in the intake with a 3-4" piece of 4" exhaust pipe, so you won't be sucking in unfiltered air.
