will a starter from a 90 F150 5.0 fit a 93 E350 with the 5.8L?
the van has a second wire on the starter and looks similar to the GM starters with the solenoid on it. The F150 5.0 starter is alot bigger and only has 1 wire, the bolt holes look similar and just wanted to see if I can get this answered quick before I pull it out of the truck, Thanks in advance -Dave
You can use the '90 starter but you will have to modify the wiring so that you only have one big wire from the solenoid to the starter. The '93 starter is the newer gear-reduction style and the solenoid is on top of the starter, GM style. IIRC, the old Ford-type solenoid, on the fender, is still there in this application but is being used as a relay.
