On my way to the lake my rear brake line blew out . The one that runs with the fuel lines to the back of the truck. And of course after looking at it i'll have to drop the tank to get to it(tank mod time). Does anyone know if there is a coupler hidden by the tank? or is it one piece? Also can this part be purchased from ford prebent? and how much is it? If its only a few $ more i will buy it prebent if not i'll do it myself.
i have done 2 of these in the last 2 months. there is the one coupler up in front on the frame rail and one all the way in the back where it couples into the rubber line to drop down. Ford told me they do not sell pre bent one you'll just have to measure and go to napa or similar place and bend it yourself you can do it by hand. with the truck on a lift it only took me about an hour.
also the 2 i did had service bodys and tanks in the rear so i didnt have to drop the tanks. but still easy.
good luck, hope this helps.

ok thanks. thats what i needed to know. I couldnt see with the tank being in the way if there was a coupler or if it was one piece from the frame rail to where it meets the rubber line. i'll pick up the line after i run down some fuel from the tank.. i just filled up yesterday when it broke lol. Do u know what size the line is?(diameter) or are all the trucks different?
I did this a few months ago. I unioned in with a 1/4" SS Compression Union and ss tubed all the back to the rear rubber line connector area. Bought a small stick of brakeline from Napa w/ the fitting flared onto it already and then cut it to about 4" long. Screwed it into the rubber hose connector by the rear end and used another union to connect the SS line and this brakeline together. I was able to do it w/ the tank in. But if I had to do it again, I'd drop the tank for sure.
My job involves me selling fittings like this, so I had access to them. "Expensive" route, but it was fixed. Check out www.sspfittings.com and look up P/N ISSD4U. That's what I used as my unions. 5000 psi rated.
