When I fuel at a truck stop using the high flow fuel pumps, I need to dribble the fuel in at the slowest rate the pump will deliver, to keep from splash back causing the pump to kick off. After I inspected the fuel filler neck on my truck, it looks like the pipe is restricted to incoporate a fill hose that sticks into the tank and allow air to vent around the fill hose. Has anybody removed this and improved the volume of fuel that can be sent down the filler neck?
It does not fill a lot faster, but now it don't spit at me when it is getting close to full.
Now when I stop for fuel, if I have a choice I always pull up to a pump that has the filler spouts on the uphill side of the truck and the front down hill if I have a second option.
Here in WV that is usually not hard to find at any station.
