Hard Shell Tonneau Cover

I've always wanted one of these, and I finally picked one up!!

The before shot, with canopy.

Afterwards, with the new hardshell snug top.

This cover came off of a two-tone red and silver '93 F-150. I have considered paint matching the cover, but the two color scheme has grown on me over the past week. I think I'll keep the cover silver, for now at least.

By the way, from a former canopy owner to anyone considering a hard shell. I love the new access to all of my bed (without having to crawl inside). Once the twin hydraulic pistons engage as you open it an inch, the cover opens on its own. Pull down on the cover slightly, and it shuts with ease.

The setup has dual locks, and the tailgate cannot be opened without releasing the locks. Its much lighter than a canopy, and comes off the bed in seconds with two 1/2" nuts. The canopy will sit for now. At least until hunting season, when the dog gets her thrown setup again back there.

Yeay for Craigslist!! $250 score for the Teal mobile!

M

I wanted one a while back...but wasn't willing to poop out the $1000+ paint for a new one. Been checking craigslist and ebay for some time now for a used setup.

I can't believe I used the canopy for that long............

I love it man. I recently took the shell off of my truck for the first time since I bought it and I LOVE IT. Looks so much better. I'm still gonna keep the shell and carpet kit around for the convenience factor.

You could get saddle boxes that fit on the sides of the shell , if you have the kind that opens on the sides as well as the rear.
