I don't pay much attention to prices due to the massive ****ing I feel when I get gas, but in my area diesel is $.20 higher then gas.........what gives?
Gas $2.97
Diesel $3.19
2.75 in TN and I paid 2.61 last week in MO....
I wish it were what its really worth, deisel costs less to
make than unleaded and really should be a buck a gallon
Not only would truckers benifit but so would the consumers
at the stores - good get delivered for less and prices at the stores
doesnt have to be upcharged - its a win win for everyone
except greedy oil companys
Due to Flooding in OK last week, a large oil tank farm down there had a major spill of product into the flood waters, and shut down. The news last night said we would see an immediate 20 cent bump in fuel prices because of it. Didn't say how long the bump up would last....
Here in the suburbs of So Cal (Whittier) gas is $2.99. Fuel is $3.29 at the half dozen stations within a mile of my home, except for one where it is $3.19. But that station has the pumps limited to $75 AND won't allow more than one purchase on a CC. Pisses me off, so don't go there.
Went out of town last weekend, and Barstow fuel was $3.03 at Flying J and TA truck stops. RUL gas was just about the same.
Drove to Vegas and back, 546 miles, didn't fill up until the day after we got home. Got 17.9 mpg for the trip.
These will be prices along the Interstates, which won't equal in-town prices, but it's a good guide to see how prices vary be geographical area. It's also good to see how bad we're getting screwed in California. Like we needed any reminder.
Not a schill for FJ. Just offering an info source.
It really get's old seeing how they manipulate fuel prices. Last summer prices were through the roof, but people were still care free with their money, they were still enjoying the credit bubble and heading out of town etc.
This year, folks are more careful with their cash, so they lower the prices to stimulate the economy, but guess what, Diesel goes up because it's a commercial fuel, so they sock it to diesel to offset the consumer price drops.
