I think that they're just putting the screws to us "because they can". Not to mention that more than 40% of what we pay at the pump is taxes. Until someone couragous enough to distribute a cheaper and more efficient alternate fuel, all we can do is bend over and take it. I'm waiting the the "Mr. Fusion", like on "Back to the Futrue" to come out. I can't wait.

I remember buying a gallon of gas for .26 to cut the grass.

Back in the '60s we would get gas for .17 during the gas wars. The cheapest recreation was driving around. Oh the good old days.

I paid $2.89 for diesel this morning in Somerset, MA. What I don't understand is there was another station less than 1/4 mile away selling diesel for $2.99.....and there were trucks waiting in line!!

Can I offer anybody some cheese with their whine? None of us bought a SD because we thought we would save money on fuel. Besides, fuel in the good old USA is cheaper than anywhere else in the world. If you can't afford fuel for your big truck....park it and admire it!

They can step in and control how much profit companies like Exxon and Shell can make. They have been posting record profits, and that's at our expense. They know they can charge whatever they want and we wil pay it, after all we have no choice.

Doesn't matter if it's our SD or some other vehicle, fuel prices just keep climbing and in some cases family incomes are declining. Something has to be done, for know I guess we all have to go to the local store and buy some KY and like someone else said, bedn over and take it.

Here's a thought, take some of the billions of dollars that we send over sees to aid others, and put it to use to aid us.

What kind of cheese is it. I love cheese. I do have to disagree with you about fuel being cheaper in the USA than anywhere else in the world. Gas in Iraq is about a dime a gallon. Their big problem is that there aren't many gas stations. The locals have to wait in lines that were usually longer than a mile long. There are more than 10 times the number of mosques than gas stations in that stink hole. I guess it would suck either way. You are right about me not buying my truck because of the fuel economy though but I just like to complain. "If your Soldiers aren't complaining, they aren't happy".

Just having a little fun here... Oh yeah, I'm not crazy about limburger but any other kind will do. Thanks.

While I would tend to at least partially agree, there are still plenty of folks out there that need the truck for business purposes--independent contractors, tow truck operators, long-haul car transporters, and the like--and fuel prices can cut deep into their bottom line.

I agree, but they never will not with two oil men in the whitehouse. What ever happened to the little no name stations that would sell a few cents under the majors. Kept them honest. What we need is some competition. When you have about four companies running the show your bound to get it in the end.

The gas in the UK and other european countries is much higher, but it is due to taxes. That is why they mostly drive roller skates and diesels.
