I have a 93 f150 with a 5.0 and a 5 speed. Is it possible to find a chip or tuner that will work with speed density with no ill effects? I noticed that summit racing has several listed for the truck, but they do not say whether they are speed density compatible.
Speed density is actually a Non Mass Air Flow engine. But i coulda swore that after 88 all the 5.0's were mass air flow engines, i have an 87 i converted to mass air flow, but i had bought a thing called Venom 400 PCM for it and it will only come on when you are giving it moderate to full throttle. I noticed a pretty good difference with it on. The only thing i had to do was hook one wire to one of the wires on the TPS sensor and one to my Aircharge sensor wire and then power and ground. It also said it would work with mass air flow engines as well. it'll cost ya around 350 bucks for it, but i thought it made my stang run pretty good.
My truck does not have mass air and it is pretty much stock. I don't want to dump a ton of money into it, but I wouldn't mind spending $350 on something that would make it go a little better.

Superchips, SCT and I believe Jet all have applications for it. Its established, older technology so you should have no problems with it.
Also, if you're looking for custom tuning, I believer Troyer Performance can handle this with custom SCT tuning. He's a sponsor here, let him know you're from Ford-Trucks.com and he cuts you a deal at his group buy price. I think that's still current.
