Doldrums

Sweet summer. Camping, fishing, canoeing, gardening, motorcycles. Going to the gun range. What a great time. I'm not bored, mind you.

Just one problem. There's still Mods and changes I want to do for the Ex, but no cash. Bummer. I get paid by annuities once a year, and that is in December. I run on a STRICT budget all year long, and I am too greedy and I spend all my Mod money in January. So here I am in the middle of the summer thinking Christmas. I must be insane.

I never figured getting a Excursion was going to turn into a hobby!!

Yeah? What are they? Maybe talking about them will help.

OK. You wanted to know!!

This year I'll be putting on 285/75 tires, electric running boards, and lockers on the axles. I have a front hitch now, and the budget might allow me to buy a winch and winch stuff. (I won't hold my breath, it is a big might)

I'm hoping the wife will get me good roof rack for the canoe for Xmas! Dropping hints everywhere!!

I did finish putting in my air system a couple of months ago. I bought the last of the stuff in January, but did not have the time to install it. 5 gallon tank, compressor, dryer, line to operate the airbags, and a plate at the reciever that has a quick disconnect and a shraeder valve. I can fill the tank if the compressor fails, or run a hose from the back for filling tires or zipping off the lugs on a tire with a impact wrench. Just one tire, the system hasn't got enough flow to do more, but fine for emergency changes.
There is also a 5 gallon tank between the airbags and 3/8 lines to the bags. This reduces stiffness but still allows height with the bags.
