I'm a new owner of an '03 Excurision and new to the site. The kids left the key on the other night and drained the batteries down. After charging them back up to over 13V, I still can't get it to start. It doesn't even turn over and the glo plug indicator doesn't come on. The cab lights are out too. I've checked the fuses and all are ok. I'm just wondering if the diesel has another relay or breaker somewhere. The other components - radio, headlights, seats etc - are all working. I haven't tried to disconnect the batteries yet to reset the computer. Any ideas?
Resetting the 'puter should help. The GEM has a program that is supposed to shutdown all electrical drain when the voltage level gets too low. Ya' might just need to "reboot" it.
Please xplain the reboot procedure . I'd guess it involves disconnecting the batt, for a while. Some of us forum members were born in the 1st half of last century , before TV , indoor plumbing , electricity . Back when sex was dirty & the air was clean . LOL.
Thanks .
