6.0 has a higher HP poetential then the 7.3. The 6.0 also rev's higher then the 7.3 and it also has quicker turbo spool times, but with all that comes all the problems like faulty injectors, sticky turbo vanes, lifted heads off the block, blown head gaskets, etc,. The 7.3 is a tried and true motor, its reliable and dependable. The 7.3's torque curve is in the lower RPM range were the 6.0 is all top end, making the 7.3 better for towing heavy loads. The 6.0 has a better transmission then the 7.3. its all vs., ones better then the other in certain areas and vice versa.
I'm looking at buying a 97 F250 locally. It has 152K on it. All I really want to do is tow an RV that's bigger than 7000#. My cheby with 5.7 won't hardly tow our 3000# RV we have now.
the 7.3 or 6.0 will do it fine. its just how efficent do you wanna tow? And if you wanna be efficent then I would recommend you go with the 7.3 my friend.
Personally, I own a 7.3 but I pulled with a 6.0 monday. the 6.0 stock will outpull a stock (94-97) 7.3. That being said the 7.3 is more reliable and mine will pull 10,000lbs with ease.
i disagree, it will blow by all years of the 7.3's in stock form, but it wont have the low end torque to take the hills and keep constant speed like the 7.3's do.
