Hey guys just picked up a 2008 F250 with a 5.4l and am wondering which tuner works the best. I am not looking for fuel mileage improvements, and will be running reg unleaded (as my job pays for the fuel). Any suggestions?
I'm wondering the same thing. Just got a 08' F 350 SD 6.4 diesel dual turbo King Ranch. I'm looking to get improved mileage, more torque, price doesn't matter, tow a couple of Bulls once a month for a couple of hours. All help is welcome... Thanks ' y'all
When I say best I mean overall performance gains. I don't want a bunch of power the electronic trans can't understand. The truck seems as though it has plenty o pep, but it seems retricted, to explain: If I hammer the throttle while traveling at city speeds, it feels like it will lurch, and spin the tires, but the the FORD Gods are like "whoah little pony" and shut off the fuel. What I want is that "lurch" unrestricted.
We have sold many of the Bullydog tuners for the 6.4l, Superchips would be a good option also (havent tried one yet on a 6.4l), but Superchips is usually a good product. Right now you can get an SCT Livewire with or without an Extreme file (120hp). Edge claims release next month.
As for the 5.4l I would have to do some research. I can't imagine much changed from last year, but I will see what I can find.
SCT has the Livewire available for the 08' 6.4l. SCT is known for having some of the best diesel tunes. Don't know if anything is available from SCT for the 5.4l. I would contact a SCT dealer to find out for sure.
Hypertech has the new Max Energy 42003 I think is the part number. SCT Xcal2's can be custom tuned for the Expedition I'm sure. The Edge Evolution has worked fine on some of the Expeditions also. I believe Diablosport has a tuner for it as well. I would have to get into my catalogs to see what else is available.
