Hypertech41042

This hypertech chip came on my 04 F250; It seems to work good. It has 4 settings off,52 hp,82 hp, & 125 hp. You can tow on the top setting according to hypertech. Is anyone using this chip. You can change settings on the fly. It gives good power too. I have a SCT tuner I could have loaded with tunes for a diesel. It has my old F150 tunes now. Would it give much more power to use the SCT tunes? I'm thinking of using the SCTfor my Grand Marquis.

Hypertech says they don't have any EGT issues, but more fuel and air generate more heat. I would need some kind of gauge to verify that the EGTs are acceptable when towing on high power.

SCT could squeak out another couple of horses I'm sure, but I doubt you could notice them. Plus you would only have to buy tunes for your Merc if you keep the hypertech on the F250.

I plan to add a egt gauge & just keep the hypertech. I like its shift on the fly & it makes good hp.The top setting is plenty for me. I plan a cat back exhaust for my only other performance mod. The wife wants a little more power from her Merc. I plan to get her a 87 economy tune & a 87 performance & a 93 performance put on the SCT. I bet she uses the 93 tune like I did with my F150.
