Hi everyone, new here and have an issue with an 00 F350 DRW 4x4 7.3 6 speed truck, it has a clunking in 6th gear only when accelerating or cruizing the noise goes completely away when you take your foot of fthe skinny peddal.
You can hear and feel this issue, sounds like it ha sa tooth missing but makes no sense why it would nopt make some sort of noise on decelleration imo.
Truck has 3:73 gear and 180k on it if that helps at all. Someone please help, I am flabber gasted on this one.
Broken tooth/teeth on one of the gears.
Time for a rebuild.
While you have it out, get the transfer case checked as well. Mine stranded me a $500.00 tow bill away on the top of Mt. Rainier in Washington because of a worn out shift fork.
