I've done mine four times and never had to replace anything other than pads, however on separate occassions, I have replaced all four ball joints so check them for wear..
As someone w/some 20s with big tires (305/50s) I put on a set of slotted and drilled rotors from a company called F1 i believe...found them on ebay, my cousin has used them forever and beats his truck and gets the most life out of these and the pads we both use are Hawks, got the performance ones. They are great and the zinc covered rotors look great behind the chrome.
If you do a search on changing front brakes, you'll find that seized rotors are very common. A lot of the threads recommend using a BFH, what I found out the hard way was that they weren't kidding. I had to whale on the outside edge of the rotors with a 5 lb hammer in order to get them off.
