The input shaft seal I need is not in the F3AZ-3E502-A kit. Went to a dealer who had two of these kits in stock. Nothing matched. Still no help with Kragens, NAPA or auto zone. NAPA had the same kit.
I have two of these gearboxes. The input shaft seal's are the same on both.(one box is junk, the other is on truck) The seals in the kits where two big O.D.
I even brought one of the old seals with just to match up.
I know you guys know your %@$#. I wouldn't doubt you for a second. Do you think maybe I may have two off-the-wall ******* boxes ?? Are they trying to sell me a Saginaw kit ?
Ok ND should be along to help clarify. The D7AZ is a 77 part number for fullsize car, LTD Ect. F3AZ (D7AZ) 3E502-A fits many other cars & trucks than just from 1977. Ford loves to update part numbers, and here is a typical example. Just because a part number has a 1977 date, it doesn't mean that's all it fits. An "A" in the prefix of a Ford part number can fit a truck, as can a Z, and most every other third digit in a Ford part number prefix.
Seals on the Bendix box are the weak piont and one of the reasons ford replaced them with a new siagnaw box.Garbz
How'ja like to have to memorize all this crappola?
I'm the one who gave Rusbukt the part numbers originally.
The question now is >> what year gearbox is in the truck today? These trucks are 40 years old, so anything is possible. A seal kit from a 1965/66 gear box is different than C5AZ, D3AZ, D7AZ, F3AZ.
Bendix P/S gearboxes were used into the 1980's.
Hmm...I just read through Rusbukt's posts...he added P/S to his truck, saying he used a gearbox from a 1966...and there's the problem right there. More research needed...see following post.

You need to go back to NAPA and get the 7218 kit. Go look at the picture and see if its right for you. Enter the number in the napa number search field.
Three trips to NAPA.
One trip to carquest.
Numerous phone calls.
The 7218 from NAPA does not work. The seal is to big O.D. I am at a total loss.
Ford dealer gave me this number. C6TZ3591A. Do you guys know what this part is?
Went to this website http://www.partsvoice.com. Directs you to Ford dealers across the U.S. who sell obsolete parts. Sent a few request out. Still waiting for replies.

A Ford dealer gave you that part number?
For a Bendix power steering gearbox?
LOL..That's a weatherseal for a 1966/77 Bronco.
Fits between the steering column and the firewall.
Has nothing to do with any power steering gearbox, it doesn't even go into the gearbox.

Couldn't you just bolt a later model box in its place? The 73-79 boxes are a direct bolt in and the parts are easy to get. A new reman box is only 99.00 with core.
Welcome to my world in the State of California. But then again. I did not find what I was looking for here either.? Whatayagonnado ??? Best of luck to all.
