Howdy Folks,
Since this is my first posting as a new user to the site, I might as well start with a tough one. I have a 2004 F250 SD Powerstroke 4x4 that has an odd habit: when the transmission shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear, I hear and feel a slight "thump" that sounds as if it's coming from underneath the truck. This happens only in the change from 2nd to 3rd, no other time in the gear progression, and it happens every time. The thump is not violent, but it is not normal and therefore concerns me. Any ideas what may be happening before I pay $$$ for a mechanic to tell me?
