P1299 Cylinder Head Temperature Sensor Detected Engine Overheating Condition
Did it get hot? Check you cooling system and see if it is toped off and in working cond. Did the gauge ever show hot? Which it will not if the coolant is low.
Have you cleared the code? Did it come back?

NO never got hot. temp guage shows on the low side of normal
i don't know how to reset it.
i would like to reset it and see if it comes back again.
how do i do this.
I just got mine back from having the oil changed and lubrication. My "Service Engine Soon" light is on too. Is there a reset procedure for this? Is there something the mechanic could have done that would make it come on?
i took mine to the auto parts store, they put the code reader on it, gave me the code and reste the computer. i drove several hundred more miles today and it still hasn't come back on.
What was the code? What did you do to correct the problem? I am hoping that mine is just something that happens after an oil and filter change. OBTW my RV was in the shop because of a blown tranny. Could this be showing up because the tranny was replaced? I don't want to hijack this thread but no need to start another one if I can get answers here. Thanks.
the code on mine was P-1299. it is a overheated head condition. i did nothing to correct it. it was reset and havent had a problem since. i think the senser just misfired or something.
i am lucky it could have been a serious and expencive problem.
