Not sooo good weekend....

Well guys, I wrecked my baby. You can read the story on my ebay post. Hope it's okay to link to it here. By the way, I am looking for a cheap truck or car preferably FORD. I'm located in southeast Michigan. Thanks guys.

preppypyro...Yes the engine still does run. When the truck came to a stop the engine was running....I shut it off imediately. I have since started it twice only for a second or 2 as not to damage anything. Whomever is interested and wants to take a look may hear the engine if they like. The clutch fan doesn't turn because the fan shroud is busted and keeping it from turning. But the radiator isn't hitting the fan. There is evidence of a leak though.

Nice ride if it was 4x4 I'd buy it. Might bid any way I'll check see how far.

Nice hight hit. bumper not back far or pushed much . Using used/generic parts I bet it take way less than $ 800.00 to fix . And I have everything but core support and bag $250.00 .

Sorry for you loss. A nice low mileage truck is hard to find.
If you were even a State closer I'd be on your door step.

LOST

lostin90s....it was only pushed back about 6-8 inches....passenger side fender peeled. Frame needs to be straightened....so it will cost alot more than $800.00

Sorry for the loss. I'd take the bed and tailgate but you've got a long bed. Mine's red also, and am working on replacing the wheel arch rust and cab corners. I see you're in Plymouth, I'm in South Lyon.

Since you only had liability and no collision coverage, have you contacted the insurance company of the person at fault?

I would think that persons insurance company would pay for your damages and if the vehicle is totaled the insurance company would offer a settlement and a lower settlement if you wanted to keep the vehicle.

Was wondering if your willing to part it out. If so i would take the bed and tailgate off your hands, most likely the rear tank to. Let me know, im in need of a long bed and my truck is red so that would work out great. Willing to pay cash by the way.

F150xlt....I asked my lawyer about going after the at fault drivers insurance company to fix the truck or atleast total it out and get some cash. He said I am S.O.L. since I only had basic PLPD. Thats Michigan for ya. If anyone knows more about this please feel free to give me a shout.

I was under the impression the reason liability insurance was a must is to protect you if you caused an accident? Your insurance company woiuld pay for any claims if you were at fauilt.

What happens if there are medical expenses and the other person was at fault? Who would you go after?

I'm confused.

Call the Secretary of State and see what they say.

I'd keep the truck as is until you're positive all of your options are exhausted.

My understanding is that PLPD would cover any personal liability or damage(driver or passengers of own vehicle) and not the vehicle. If you are at fault, their insurance company would cover their damages and go after your insurance company to reimbuse them.
I keep broadform collision on my truck even though it has 170k miles on it. At $450 for six months, I'm sure liability wasn't much less.
