Turbo charger

You do lose a very minor amount of power due to the exhaust restriction of the turbo but, the amount of power gained offsets that to a point it becomes practically nonexistent. With a turbo, you want the least restrictive exhaust possible. NO backpressure! It will actually be quieter than a regular exhaust due to the turbine breaking up the exhaust pulses. You can build a boost controller for less than $20U.S. Of course, it's not going to be as accurate as the high dollar ones but, it will work. I have a simple inline pressure regulator from a pneumatics supplier on my turbo to control the wategate. When you load the engine, you not only allow more air but, more fuel which makes a bigger explosion which spins the turbine faster which forces more air into the engine etc.
