Given that my SuperCab weighs in at around 7800# curb weight, I'd imagine the crewcab would push that to over 8000... 8200-8300 likely, unless you've got it full of crap...
They giving you grief over "no trucks over X tons" parking or some such?
A 2wd truck weighs in at right at 7K. A 4wd SRW weighs in at about 8.3K. I'm also curious as to what your problem is. I know at the license bureau they told me the weight on my truck was only listed at 5400 lbs but I've been on the landfill scales more than once, so I know it's 6850 with a full fuel tank (CC 2wd)
I recently had my 2003 F-250 Crew, 6.0L, 4x4 SRW, 1/4 tank of fuel on our scale at work and it came in at 7600#. It should be close as with a full tank and three people in it I'll get charged for a class 2 (8000#) when running the PA turnpike..
i do landscape curbing in idaho and got pulled over from an commercial enforcement officers and put me throught the ringer checked all my saftey equipment fire ext., road hazard signs ect, and then he weight me and with my truck and trailer full of sand half tank and just me in the truck it was 23000 pounds and he said that any thing that is over 8000 (including everybody inside the vehecial and fuel)needs a comercial registration i thought that any f350 stock is pushing that anyway let alone any trailer or extras. so i think that i am going to fight it and try to get out of the 1570.00 ticket ouch!!! any suggestions?

Well it is going to depend on the laws of Idaho, i know in AZ an F350 has commercial plates and pays a weight fee.
I just looked at the Idaho DMV webpage and any vehicle over 8000lbs is no longer considered a Passneger car or Pickup and therefore must pay the weight fee applicable to the load the vehicle is carrying. So it sounds like you did not register your truck for the proper weight. http://itd.idaho.gov/dmv/VehicleServices/vs.htm
Hope this helps

i can tell you in the state of NJ that because your are using the truck to earn money that it has to be registered as a commercial vehicle. Is there a chance the officer didn't explain that you needed commercial tags for that reason?? your laws may be different but this is a more legitimate reason and it's a huge problem here with landscapers in NJ.
