2003 king ranch supercab leveling question

I tried searching previous posts, but the search feature kept bringing up too many unrelated posts, so here it goes......

I just bought a 2003 KingRanch Supercab 2wd with 20" wheels and Yokahama Geolander 285/50r20 tires- I also have the stock wheels and tires. The truck has an ARE fiberglass tonneau installed. I want to lift the front up to level the truck out. Which is better for such a small lift coils or spacers and how much of a lift will be needed? With the weight of the bedcover, I know the rear is squatted just a little bit over stock. Would 2" be too much of a lift or should I go with 1.5 inch? Once the tires wear out I plan on going with a 35" tire and bigger lift (probably 6"), this is just for the time being- about a year or so ( I can't stand the raked look).

Anyone else running a similar setup?

Hello deputydawgkingranch and welcome to FTE. What color is your KR?

I have not leveled my KR so I am not exactly sure that this will work. You have a pair of torsion bars under the front end. Turning the torsion bar bolts clockwise will rasie the front end. Be sure to measure the front end height first so that you know how much you have cranked in. It is not out of the ordinary to have to crank one side more than the other to get it level all around. By the way, it will be easier to crank the bolts with the truck off the ground. Good luck!

I think the 2wd has springs not torsion bars.

Sorry for the mistake. Like I said, I wasn't sure that this was right for a 2WD. I certainly don't want to lead someone down the wrong path. I was more interested in welcoming him to FTE.

By the way, others FTE users with actual experience on this subject will be along soon.

color

My Supercab King Ranch is blue. I am not sure what the "official" color is, but it looks like a slate blue. I have never seen another one like it, usually I see the olive color, white or maroon and I have never seen a KR supercab- all the ones I have seen have been SuperCrews. I guess I have one of the least ordered ones...I gotta comb eBay for an owner's manual. For some strange reason, it was not in the truck when I got it. I just spent a good part of the morning at the bed cover retailer getting new hardware for the ARE tonneau..the person before me apparently took it off several times and lost some of the hardware. All fixed now.

Do you have any pictures of your truck? If you do, then create a gallery so that other users can see your truck. You can view my gallery by clicking on my User Name and then View Gallery.

Sounds like your truck is very similar to mine. The main difference being the running boards on mine to the chrome tubes on yours.

You can get a PDF format owners manual at www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/maintenance.asp
Simply click on "owners manuals" on the left side of the screen and follow the prompts.

I have a 2003 king ranch supercrew 4x4 with a 3 inch body lift. To get it level it would be the same if it was stock right? Just turn the torsion bars clock wise?

yes, on the 4 x 4, as you trun the screws in it pushes on the torsion arm cam and lifts the truck. you can get 1-2 inches, no more. measure from the ground to the wheel well top and make both sides the same.
