EFI 460 No high Idle
I have a 1988 F350 with EFI 460, when I start it up on a cold day, it has no fast idle. I went to Auto Zone to do a diagnostic check, and nothing came up. What could be causing this? I just replaced plugs and wires, rotor, distributer cap, EGR sensor, and Throttle position sensor. Could it be vacuum related? Thanks in advance for your help.

The fuel injected engines use an Idle Air Control (IAC) solenoid, aka Air By-pass, to let more air enter the throttle body to increase rpm. The IAC may have failed (sticking or gummed up). Usually it will set a code. The engine coolant temp sender (not for dash gage) could also have failed in the "warm/hot" position sending a signal to the computer that the engine is warm and high idle is not needed. I would replace the coolant temp sender first.
