460 timing help
Hey guys new to the forum here. I have a 73 f-350 pickup. The guy I bought the truck from swapped in a 460 motor. He said the motor came out of a thunderbird but I honestly do not know. I am trying to set the timing on it currently. I have usually always worked on Chevy’s. I set #1 at tdc but the groove in my harmonic balancer is way off. I notice a marked that is painted on the balancer and it is pretty close to where it should be but I would believe that I should go off of the groove. Any help would be nice. Thanks in advance.
