Okay so there is no oil leaking in the rear of the motor. Where it does seem to be coming from is the front of the engine. I still need to clean up all the mess but as of now it seems to be coming from around the harmonic balancer.
So I got lucky right, I’ve read about the rear seal and that sounds like a huge job, and I’ve read about the oil pan gasket, lifting the motor out of the mounts to have enough room to move stuff around, sounds like a large job, so did I get lucky?
If I am looking at this right I need to take off the extras and the pully/harmonic balancer. From here I need to just remove the timing chain cover right.
After that I just put on a new seal and bolt back up right. Well will taking off the timing chain cover mess with the oilpan gasket. (I’ve only worked on chevy’s) On a chevy they don’t interfere with each other. I’m going to put on a new harmonic balancer since there are somewhat cheap and it is probably grooved. Any advise would be great

best way to know where the leak is from is power blast it at a car wash then drive her home, take pics and we could see where is leaking from. Is it coming from the front of your valve covers? if you have pics would help
