NUTS! I mean squeaky valve train fix, I'm a dummy
ATTENTION! ATTENTION! ATTENTION! ATTENTION! ATTENTION! ATTENTION!
After struggling with a mysterious squeak in my newly rebuilt 300 for over nine months (sounds like a pregnancy doesn't it) I compared the squeaky rocker with a brand new one.
The socket (pushrod) end of the squeaker was ever so slightly smaller than a new rocker. ?? Bad Casting?? Or the machine shop may have lost one rocker and substituted an incorrect one.
At any rate if you have a rebuilt 300 motor and have the squeaky valve train that may sound like a belt/bearing noise check your rockers!!!!!!
