Has anyone out there removed a power window motor from an 88 Bronco II? I offered to help a guy take one out and I have never done one on this model, I have done many on F-150S but, never a Bronco II. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks!
if you've done a F150 then the Bronco II isn't much different. They all work pretty much the same. I've done 150's, Cherokee's, Bronco's, small cars..all pretty much the same.
I don't recall any dimples on my '87. I -SHOULD- have drilled the holes in my inner door sheetmetal when I replaced the gear assembly on my passenger door, but, luckily I was able to fit my arms and hands in there with the window glass propped up out of my way. You might be able to eyeball it if there are no dimples. All you have to do is pull the door panel off as you would on an F-150 and then go from there. You will want to use something to prop the window up just so it's not in your way. Hope this helps.
EDIT: If the window won't stay up on it's own or it's having problems moving up or down, especially up, more than likely it's just the gear assembly that the motor hooks to that drives the regulator. My motor was still good, but the gear assembly was grenaded. Gotta love plastic!

yeah kernel! you said it right! "gotta love plastic" it seems everything is made out of plastic these days! i had to replaced the gears in both of my b2 windows last year,,they were all chewed up..not a bad job if you have small arms and hands!!
The motor, except for the shorter power connector, is the same as a full sized Bronco/F-150. You can easily swap a bronco pw motor into the Bronco II, I have done it before.
