Chrome wheels skins
Are the skins in this link, a replica, (which are plastic), of the OEM, or are they a direct replacement?
If these skins on ebay are a bad deal, where can I find some chrome 15" skins like these that will fit my truck?
Thanks!
What you are looking for is actual chrome rims. Looking at your sig...."running on 235/75/15" tells me you probly have stock steel wheels and tires. You can find chrome rims (aftermarket) fairly reasonable for those tires.......Rims start getting real expensive when you want the wider ones ....."ie" 15 x 10 versus the 15 x 7 that you have now.
I've bought rims from Summit and have also found them locally. Aftermarket rims sometimes are a little out of round and not always true due to their construction and I've had to send as many as 2 out of 4 back. Always make sure you put them on a wheel balancer without tires and spin them up.....you can see the flaws. It's not a problem to exchange them if you haven't mounted tires. If you buy locally, they should make sure the rims are good and balance up well.
Another option for you might be to paint the rims you have........Parts stores have "wheel paint" and in reality you can use any color you want......clean and wire brush and sand good...then use Rustoleum. I've done that many times when I wanted to maintain the stock wheel but dress it up a little.
Good Luck

I've thought about painting the rims I have now as a "quick, temporary" fix until I decide on which rims I want to get.
92F150Flare, I don't know if you're familiar with Rivers Ave, in N. Charleston, but there's a PeP Boys that has some American Racing wheels (about 3-4 to choose from) that I mentioned in a previous thread. I'm leading more towards one of them.
Thanks!
I live in Goose Creek.......maybe 10 miles from them. Which of the rims are you favoring......I'll go by and look and give you my opinion.

Bob
