Has anyone put on the skyjacker 3" lift? looks simple enough to do at a reasonable price. I am wondering if the axle shaft angles are to steep and if the truck can be aligned afterwards. here is a link

I did not actually install mine, but was there throughout the install. Looked very simple. You will have to have your truck aligned and the shaft angles are not to steep. Rides awesome. check out my gallery for pics. I did replace my rear shocks with some skyjacker shocks.
I have it in mine and not very impressed. It make things look all out of wack you get bad wheel shake off road. You will understand when you install it, you have to max everything out to where I feel its bad, it still aligned fine but the ball joinsts and the steering are to the point of being to far (in my mind)
My opinion save your money and get the real thing, if you dont go off road or push the truck at all it may be a good bang for your buck, but mine is coming out in the spring, do you want to buy it?? JK
thanks for the replies. I was thinking it might be taking the suspension to the max. I don't do any serious off roading, so it may be an option down the road. I might concider buying yours lol. dastud, do you do any off roading? any weird noises or anything?

I have noticed no tire bounce and I have had the truck up to 100 mph. I do some off roading and have had the truck bouncing pretty good and have turned up some pretty steep inclines and no wierd noises. To tell you the truth, other than being off the ground a little more, it rides just like stock, jmo.
I have to agree with hollywood2005 here. I have seen some pics posted here of the front axleshaft angles and they are pretty steep. The skyjacker is essentially the same as a 3" leveling kit. Yeah, it comes with new struts, but there is no subframe to drop the lower control arm mounting points, or the diff. A real lift kit lowers the front diff and lower control arm mounts so that all geometry is the same as it was from the factory. I would save up the money and go for a "real" 4" or 6" lift if it was my truck.
i installed mine a little over a month or so ago, it handles, yes handles twice as good as before. now the 33x12.50's might help also though. it rides almost as good as stock with just a little more "feel" of the road. i've had mine up the highway and backroads with no problems. if you read up, the bigger tires hurt your joints and such more than the angles, to a certain extent. if you see pics of a donahue or king racing setup, the angles are the same and they are as much as a 6" "real" lift.
the only thing i have is a darned clunk/squeek noise from the front, i've checked and rechecked fitment and tightness with no findings. even called SJ and asked them but they had nothing to add. Its a good kit though and looks and performs good, just remember to loosen your end links if you put it on yourself, the instructions did not mention this important step.
