Just installed DP Tuner yesterday. Instructions very straight-forward and easy to follow, and I'm one that if it can go wrong, it will. Seems like about 2 MPG better, will know for sure once I fill up. My speedometer was off about 5 mph before the DP Tuner, now is only off by 3.
Do have a question though... When running errands today, the beast died twice when I let off the gas. Ran without a hitch yesterday. I was running the 40 tow tune without any load, and only me in the vehicle. Put it in neutral and attempted, restart... wouldn't. pulled over, shut it off, and restarted, ran fine, then did the same thing about 2 miles later. switched it back to stock, and drove the rest of the way home. Did the tuner make the CPS more senstive to dying, never had this problem before?
If it's a pretty sudden shutoff, like you turned the key, it's likely the CPS. If it's a sort of stuttering issue as it falls to idle and then dies, it could be a tuning problem... but unlikely with the basic tunes for stock injectors and oil.
Mine popped off the cable once (it went to stock), and I was trying to figure out what was going wrong with my truck! It finally dawned on me to see if I bumped the switch to stock or something, but it was off. Soon as I plugged it back in, it was back to normal. I haven't had any shutting off or poor running issues with the DP. Did you clean the connector per instructions (just a little copper showing around the pads)? And is the module taped in place? I had to trim the plastic PCM bracket to allow everything to fit correctly though. I then used duct tape to hold everything in place. And make sure the little grounding tab under one of the screws in the plastic bracket is in place -- the case of the PCM needs to be grounded.
