I have a 1994 turbo IDI, Dealer parts guy quoted me $120 bucks I need a part number to get the right one and not pay an extra $100 can anyone help me out?
Try your local parts store. Depending on which one it takes it can be anywhere from 14 dollars to over 160 dollars. What does it look like and what alternator do you have. The old style regulator that mounts on the fender is the cheapest. If you have a Leece-Neville they get pricy but not as bad as a Bosch. I will recommend however if you have the one that mounts on the fender make sure you have a good ground from the regulator body to a good ground point.
Clean your terminals then make sure they're tight. If this doesn't help take it down to your local parts store and have them do a full test on your starting and charging system. Most stores do this for free.
