Question Door Key pad code?

Just bought a 06 F350 DRW Lariat and I need the 5 digit door code. Ford will get it out of the computer for $40 . In my manual it says its on the ECM also. Where is it at? The dealer said its behind the radio. I pulled that and its not there. Does anyone know if the code is on the ecm or should I just pay them the cash and save the time and help keep ford afloat?

I think it is actually behind the radio but just below it. You should be able to look up from underneath the dash and read the code on the lable.

It should be below the radio, directly behind the hook on the lower part of the dash. If you remove the hook so you can look back in there and pull back the carpet and insulation some you should see it. The code is supposed to be printed right on it.

Depending on the model year, it may be behind the radio, under the radio, behind the glove box, or perhaps one of several more potential locations. Search the site carefullly in the Super Duty and Diesel sections only, and you'll find that there is at least one very long thread that contains lots of folks' input about where they found their codes. Mine was on a card inside the pocket of my Owner's Manual (purchased used, 2003 model bought this past April).

Thanks to everyone! Man its nice to have a place like this to go and get some good help. Saving myself 40 bucks on stupid little things means I'm that much closer to my new exhaust and making some noise.

Thanks Again

Take a few of the bucks you save and invest in becoming a Supporter... that will help ensure that we keep this EXCELLENT resource available for all of us. Next time my Supporter dues come up, I'm pitching in for 2 years. There's no doubt about the return on investment!!

Have a happy and safe 4th.

I don't suppose anyone on the board has actually *SUCCEEDED* in getting the keypad module reprogrammed at the dealer, instead of replaced (to the tune of $300) AND THEN reprogrammed?

why would you need to have it replaced/reprogrammed at the dealer when you can change the code yourself? unless maybe someone you don't like has the master code....

My truck got broken into Wednesday. In addition to my new stereo, the thieves got the other key and fob, and the master code to my keypad. In order to keep said thieves out of my truck, I'll have to have the master code changed. So Far, the only option is replace and reprogram. I've already installed the lockless driver's door handle.

no, but they rifled through it. And the rest of the truck, for that matter. Funny that they did NOT take the factory stereo, which was sitting in the back seat.

From what I've read, the dealer is the only one who can actually reprogram the code. Your insurance should cover this, though.

Not with a $500 deductible.

One user here suggested that the dealer could reprogram the original one, but I haven't gotten the details back from him yet. The dealers all say that you have to replace the module, and THEN reprogram it.

You could look at it 2 ways either they didn't want you driving around with out tunes or its more likely that ford's radios aren't worth stealing even if they are just laying on the back seat. It sucks that some people has to do things like this. Here is an idea not sure if it would work but you could give it a try. Unplug the module for the keyless entry. Like I said I don't know if it will work. Its found under the dash sorta behind the radio which is already taken out for you. I took mine out yesterday when I needed to find my code since I just bought it used and there was no card in the manual. If you unplug it you will have to go back to using a key to get in your truck. Hope this helps to get you in the right direction. Good luck
