I went with the option of putting in a crew-cab rear-door handle, which has no keyhole, and having the module replaced. Now, if the fools want in, they'll have to do enough damage to actually make it worth a claim. The module, installation, and an extra fob ran just over $300. Add in the value of the radio ($150) and the cost of the door handle, and you're just barely braking my deductible.
the theives used a screwdriver to jam into the lock cylinder, and pop the whole handle out of the door, as has been discussed (to death) many times -- do a search on "theft" and you'll be entertained for days. I also discovered on Friday that they tried to get in on the passenger's side, too; all they did was scratch things.
I'm going to have the ignition cylinder re-keyed on Monday.
you can recode them yourself so even if you find the master code. If someone recoded it the master code won't work so you may have to go the dealer route.
