'86 BRONCO XLT 5.0
this one has:
4.56s / full length headers
what shes gonna get:
about 4" taller / detroit locker / cage / 351w...the rest depends on whether or not i want to try to keep it street legal...race seats and the rear deck off permanently doesnt sound too shabby!
its a slow process - but people often underestimate the ability of an obsessive compulsive person to be stubborn.
Gawd ya'll sound like you got some great projects goin on.Soundlike a bunch of good ole southern boys too.Any of ya'll from Florida?Land of the snowbirds and developed swamplands(that was my favorite mud hole)Mine don't sound like much compared to ya'lls but it's mine.83 bronco 4x4 351w edelbrock 4bbl intake, longtube headers, straightpipes/turbo mufflers,9 inch rear danna 44 ttb front,C-6 NP208?, 3 inch body lift 31 BFG AT's (ugh) two bad two good.Decent interior powere everything.SOON TO BE:
6 inch suspension lift to gimme some extra flex, edelbrock 600cfm carb,33's,jeepin it(hackin the doors leavin the tailgate and pullin the side windows from the rear top) straight pipes coming out before the rears.Stainless sealed rear pipe bumper, custom from pipe bumper,PTO winch,C-6 trans with shift kit,or a 5 spd manual.Stripped down interior with spray in bedliner throughout. Then I just gotta figure out some way to hook the fuel cell that's under the truck into the stock fuel tank.Any ideas?
'78 bronco
400/c6
body is off, just got all the body mounts fixed (7/8 were bad! )
Frame is sitting in the shop, just unbolted the rear axle and chopped off old spring hangers. Deciding what paint scheme to use as we speak. I'm thinking blue or black frame, gray springs (the front coils came powder coated gray, so..) and black axles.
Then its getting lifted 4inches, body back on. Getting a cage put in(probably S&W cage), some new seats and harnesses.[take a moment to finally take the thing wheelin again and beat the hell out of it..add fixing whatever i break to the list]. Then maybe gears/ARB air locker for the front, winch bumper+winch, custom canvas top to go over the cage in the rear. Maybe come custom light bars/lighting.
After all that is done I'll take a look at that 460 that's sitting next to the shop rotting away and see what needs to be done to it to make it run.
Somewhere in there I have to get a tow rig and trailer big enough for two '78s.
I'm familiar with some of the places in Cocoa. I actually purchased my Dana 60 front and Dana 70 rear from TJ's 4X4 in Cocoa, drove the 2-1/2 hours each way to pick it up. Enjoy your freedom up there, when I was a teenager growing up in West Palm (late 70's thru the 80's), we had plenty of places to wheel. Sucks now, It's all blue hairs and condos. The kids have no place to go unless they trespass. I'm lucky because I'm a member on a 17,000 acre hunting lease near Sebring (only 7 members), but it's a 2 hour drive and it aint cheap!
I'm from good ole Lake county......Any of ya'll goin to the Okeechobee Mudfest in August?I was plannin on it but my truck ain't gonna be done by then........
