HELP 89 7.3 Will Not Start
I have a friend that can't get his 89 7.3 started. Here is some history...
He had a low oil pressure problem so he pulled the eng to check the oil pump and bottom end bearings. He found a problem with the oil press reg and fixed it and put everything back together.
The truck started right up and he chased down a few leaks. On a test drive the truck stalled and he has not been able to get it started.
It looks like when the truck was sitting someone ripped off the fuel that was in the truck so he put 4 gal in each tank and still no start. He even tried starting fluid with no luck.
I recommended that he should take the fuel line going to the Injection Pump and make sure he is getting fuel. If fuel is getting to the pump then I asked him to loosen one of the fuel lines going to one of the injector and see if he is getting fuel to the injectors.
I am not very familiar with the old 7.3 so I am looking for some addition advise. I would think that when he tried the starting fluid it should of at least tried to fire.
Thanks for the help...

You can also try cranking with the pedal pully depressed, this will increace the amount of fuel the IP sucks in helping it fire a little sooner. Once it starts to fire, back off, and it should start, but you may have to baby it for the first few seconds.
