The way I understand it, the 302 from 86-95 used the 50oz. imbalance, right? No matter what the application? I had a guy try to tell me that a flywheel (with the 50oz. imbalance) off of an 86 truck wouldn't fit an 86 Marquis (motor). The Marquis is fuel injected, and is auto. In order to put it in my truck, I'll need a flywheel to fit it. The reason I want to go with a truck flywheel as opposed to one out of a mustang is clutch size, I'd like to stay with the 11" clutch. Thanks guys,
Justin
All the 302's are 50oz inbalance after 82. The only issues I see are flywheel size/starter location. But I assume you will be using the truck bellhousing that is set-up for the large flywheel, so that should be ok. The only other issue will be the pilot bushing in the end of the crankshaft. An engine from a automatic doesn't have one. Check and make sure the crankshaft has a place for the pilot bushing, and install it. Hopefully it's already machined correctly for one.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 23-Dec-02 AT 10:59 AM (EST)]He's switching the flexplate from the Marquis out for a truck flywheel for him to use with a manual transmission. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work besides the pilot bearing thing on the end of the crank. I would think all of that would work though, I can't see Ford machining cranks differently for manual or auto tranny's.
