Anything greater than 72 pixels per inch is pretty-much wasted when posted to the web.
Granted, it's only monochromatic, but mine's only 1905 bytes total, and it's 96 dpi. It could be even smaller if it were a gif.

You keep in mind that the white space is part of it. So the measure of THAT is the total dimension. You don't see it - but it's there.
All of that can be skinnied, and the number of colors raster can also be stripped. If the browser has an image based on 128 colors - but only three or four are used - you can change formats, so the extra info is not parsed.
