An avatar question
I have a few avatars, in waiting, that are around 120 x 100 @ 26kb, bigger than the 12.2kb allowed.
How do lower the pictures kb?
Or can you?
Thanks

Dennis, I tried that just know.
I resized it to.........5 x 6 and it still says that it's 25k.
Hmmm! Oh well.

With some programs, you can lower the pixels per inch, and that will greatly reduce the size of the file. Photoshop and programs like that will work.
Worst case, just PM me and I'll give you my email. Send them to me and I'll see if I can shrink them down for you.

MS Photo Editor can resize physically as well as in kb size. It may have come pre-installed on your system... What program(s) do you have?

"Hey you! Got a cracker?"
I AM a 'cracker', choo' talkin' about?
Can you post them anyway you can find, or e-mail them through FTE to me?
I can fix that....
It isn't the size - it's the resolution (pixels per inch) that are messing it up.

Another way is to increase the the compression if they are jpeg files (*.jpg or *.jpeg).
In MS photo editor, when you click on "Save as...", there is an option for "More>>". Click on that and there is a slider for increasing/decreasing the compression if you're saving it as a jpeg.

Don't feel bad. There is no dedicated storage capacity for this stuff in my gray matter either.

It's too big and won't work by resizing it becasue part of the size is the code for the motion.
You can only link it in posts.

actually dennis this is the one i was looking at.
so if i understand you correctly, when he "comes out of the box", the size goes over the max, and by resizing it, it cancels the animation code?
