Hey all, I cant seem to find what I'm looking for. I want to change the tranny fluid and filter, and rear diff fluid. I've heard synthetic is a good choice for both. What synthetic fluid do I use in the tranny? what about the rear diff? What additive do I need for rear diff? Also, if any of you have a link to the write up for a tranny flush using new tranny fluid to push out the old stuff....I read it a while ago, but cant seem to find it.
I'm heading to Quebec caribou hunting in Sept. (30 hr drive from Michigan) and want to make sure she's ready. Any other suggestions?
Synthetic is a good choice. To answer your questions:
1.What synthetic fluid do I use in the tranny? Look for one that is equivilant to the Dex/MerIV fluid. I used Royal Purple MaxTrans in mine.
2. what about the rear diff? What additive do I need for rear diff? Use the correct weight fluid for the diff in a synthetic form. If you have a limited slip yes you'd nee the friction modifier for the clutches. But, most synthetics have that included in the formula just read the back.
3. Also, if any of you have a link to the write up for a tranny flush using new tranny fluid to push out the old stuff.. When I do mine I just drop the pan and drain the converter and refill.
