I'm working on a 76 Supercab 2wd, with the 4spd manual and a 300 six.
I'm wondering what you all recommend for fluids in the tranny and diff - I'm not one to skimp on vital fluids - what do you use? What is the best way to change them? (By best I mean least painful )
And what are the capacities for the tranny and diff? (Does the Supercab 2wd have a 9" rear end?)
You'll probably get better answers over in the transmission forum.....do a thread search. This'll prob'ly get moved over there anyhow......mods must be on dinner break .
Thanks, I'll do that. I just figured that this was a good place to start. I've had a little trouble with the search, though...with my dialup it takes FOR-EVER to get any results.
There is a presently a Firesale on CDrom versions right now at the FTE office.

Even though this forum is chaulk full of talent and experience
The specfic systems forums are sometimes less travelled but are better for asking specific systems questions.
I find Haynes manual the most descriptive and has more pictures.
I see them on ebay alot for pretty cheap with decent shipping.
Like previously said, 80W90 gear oil is the way to go. They sell a 90W140 gear oil... way to thick. For a 2wd, synthetic is great.
For my Bronco that passes through alot of mud a water, I have to drain the oil alot, so synthetic would be a waste of money.
